September 30 is Interpreters & Translators Day

Below is a message from the International Federation of Interpreters & Translators on how interpreters contribute to the most basic of Human Rights:
The right to express oneself in one's language.
The right to receive services in one's language.
The right to information in one's language.
The right to knowledge about one's medical condition.
The right to health care access regardless of one's language.
These rights, now known as human rights, could not be respected if no interpreter was present.
